Q:

There is a big gap in our hardwood floor. What can I do?

A:

You can fill the gap with putty, but if it’s too big, you’ll have to replace it. A good rule of thumb is about one-quarter of an inch. Bigger than that, replace. Smaller than that, fill. If you have to replace it, make sure to use a certified professional.
