Wood - Liquid Issues

Q:

The area I live in experienced a long period of rain and now my hardwood floor in my basement is wet, but I can’t find any leaks in the foundation. Any suggestions?

A:

Your problem may be caused by two sources, ground water or surface water. When it rains a lot, ground water rises above the foundation and penetrates the foundation walls. Surface water is the result of rain that runs along the roof and slides under the foundation walls. You should consult a professional contractor to review your situation.
