How do I know when to replace carpet and when to simply repair it?
A:
Most of the time, if you think your carpet needs attention, and it doesn't just need cleaning, it probably needs to be replaced. Patching a trouble spot isn't too eye appealing, because of the difference in look and feel that it will create. Some items that can be fixed, however, include loose tacking strips and separating seams.
