Q:
What is a "floating floor"?
A:
Laminate floors are floating floors. The term refers to the subfloor. Where carpet and hardwood are fastened to the subfloor, a laminate floor is not. The laminate pieces of the floor are instead fixed to each other with adhesive.
Previous Question: We recently installed a new laminate floor on our first floor, but we are having moisture problems. A friend asked if there's a crawl space near the laminate floor. Does that matter?
