What effect does liquid have on a hardwood floor?
A:
It depends on the amount of time the liquid remains in contact with your floor. If a soft drink or cup of coffee is spilled, clean it up quickly and it won't have an adverse effect. If you have a leaky flowerpot that drips in one spot over a week, you will see a problem. Damaged hardwood flooring loses its smooth finish and feels, instead, rough, rippled, or warped. If this happens, consult a professional.
